Shims for accurate vertical machinery alignment.

intershim-vulplaat

An alignment shim in engineering is a thin piece of metal used to fill or pack gaps/spaces beneath the feet of plant machinery, such as pumps, motors and gearboxes.

Alignment shims are commonly used in conjunction with shaft re-alignment work undertaken on rotating plant machinery, in order to fractionally elevate or lower one machine (most commonly a motor) so that its rotating shaft is in perfect rotational centreline alignment with the shaft of the driven unit (pump, fan, propeller).

IM Supply offers the full range of Intershim, specially designed shims with an unique, patented form. This ergonomic shape allows to stack shims easily for accurate alignment. Also, in the removal of shims, this is a very effective form.
